Why Bali by E-Bike?

The Terrain Was Made for This

Ubud sits in the highlands of Bali at around 500 metres — beautiful, but hilly. Walking the distances between the rice terraces, temples and villages would take days. A taxi keeps you on the main road. An e-bike puts you on the paths between them.

With pedal assist, the climbs become effortless. You arrive at the viewpoint over Tegalalang not breathless but present — able to actually absorb what you are seeing. You cover ground that would otherwise be inaccessible without a car or a long hike.

We have been running these tours ourselves in Ubud since the beginning. We know which paths the tourist buses never find, which local warung to stop at for breakfast, and which time of morning the terraces glow gold.

Best Time to Visit

Bali Has Two Seasons — Both Rideable

Bali’s dry season (April–October) offers clear skies, cooler mornings and rice terraces at their greenest. This is the ideal time for outdoor touring — the light is exceptional at sunrise and the paths are at their best.

The wet season (November–March) brings short, intense afternoon showers — but mornings are usually dry and the landscape turns an extraordinary shade of green. Many guests prefer the wet season for its lush atmosphere and fewer tourists.

Our tours run year-round. We adjust departure times seasonally to catch the best conditions of the day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Bali E-Bike Tour — FAQ

Do I need to know how to ride a bike?+
You need basic balance — but no cycling experience or fitness is required. Our e-bikes have strong pedal assist that handles all the hills. If you’ve ridden a bike at any point in your life, you can do this tour.
Is Bali safe for cycling?+
Our routes use back roads, field paths and village lanes — not the main Ubud roads. We design specifically to avoid traffic. A helmet is provided and required throughout the tour.
What is the best time of day?+
Early morning (7–8am) is the magic window: the terraces catch the morning light, the village paths are quiet, and you arrive at the viewpoints before the day-trippers. We strongly recommend our sunrise departure when available.
What is included in the price?+
E-bike, helmet, local Ubud guide, and bottled water on all tours. The Full Day tour also includes a traditional Balinese lunch at a local warung and a coffee plantation stop.
Can we customise the route?+
Private tours can be fully customised. Tell us what you want to see — specific temples, a cooking class stop, a particular rice terrace — and we will build the route around it. Contact us through the booking page.
